Aspiring Youth Volunteers Take Note Camp Seale Harris is planning to provide a new program during Senior Camp for youth 16 - 17 years of age who are interested in learning about volunteer service within the Southeastern Diabetes Education Services family. Are you aware that volunteers are needed at your SDES office in Hoover, at fund raising events and at community programs, as well as Camp Seale Harris and Camp Sugar Falls Camps? The purpose of this new program is to introduce youth to the characteristics and responsibilities of outstanding volunteers and inspire desire to help SDES fulfill its mission of motivating and educating children having diabetes. Youth are encouraged to contact their SDES office regarding applications for this program.
Volunteers are the key to every aspect of Southeastern Diabetes Education Services. Our volunteers serve as the main governing body for the organization; they assist with the design and implementation of our programs; and they help with our office and program registration needs. Would you like to help SDES “teach families how to live with diabetes?” We are always in need of additional volunteers, and we feel that you would make a wonderful addition to our family. |
